Combustion will remain as a major actor in transportation, power generation and certain manufacturing processes.

To meet future energy challenges, combustion science will need profound innovations.  MILD combustion appears as a very attractive solution due to its fuel flexibility, capability to deliver very high combustion efficiency with virtually zero emissions. This combustion regime is the result of a very strong interaction between turbulent mixing and chemical kinetics, which is not yet fully understood.

VADEMECOM aims to drive the development of modern and efficient combustion technologies by means of experimental, theoretical and numerical simulation approaches.
